Dismissed!

Well, I lost a couple of more deviations because they violated policy. The colorized version of Probe and Aerobics were taken out of my gallery today, so that brings my total to three since I've been deviating here. I'm not bitter, just philosophic about it all. It caused me to read the policies here at dA a little closer, and I'll have to self-censure a little tighter. Another board that I post at, which featured somewhat more extreme subject matter, was totally eliminated last month, so I understand what dA is protecting with their policies.
Oddly, the line art for both deviations are still in my scraps, and they are basically the same images. I also worry about my Drown Story pics, since there is a prohibition against "toys", and the chair that Patty Van Dyke is poised to be seated on has a protuberance that may just be construed as a toy (it's really just there to keep her mind off her fate--honest!). But, we'll see how it goes.
A big part of art is making something that suggests something else. Black lines on white paper suggesting three dimensions. Shading and blurring suggesting movement. I try not to be explicit in my work. Instead, I try to be suggestive, since this allows play between my image and the viewer--which I think is more powerful. More fun, too.
Lastly, and I also don't blame dA for this either, but there is more leeway for violent images than for sexual ones. This is more of a societal problem--Patty Van Dyke can have her life imperiled, but she can't be aroused.
Oh, if you want to see the removed pics, send me a note, and I'll hook you up.

...and I must appreciate the revival of the modern-pulpy Damsel in Distress revival you have going on.
Cheers!
